Kaiju no 8 has the same issue black clover does it’s not original enough reason why people prefer other new gen series like mob mha and jjk is cause yes it takes inspiration from old gen but it adds a storyline we’ve never seen before which is what makes us engaged Kaiju no 8 don’t have that and it ends up feeling super predictable

I think “ChatGPT gone rogue “ is actually a compliment for Kaiju no 9 He learns like an AI would, and it’s a factor that doesn’t make itself immediately known until during his second encounter with the kaiju extermination squad, where in he becomes one of the most powerful characters What makes him so endearing is the fact he was never built up to be this sort of threat. From his first appearance and resulting encounters No 9 was expected to be a first encounter villain that stands to showcase the protagonists powers. From then on we don’t even see him and assume he was just that type of obstacle following No. 10’s entrance who was much grander in scale. Kaiju no. 9 is great cause the audience is supposed to underestimate him at first. It’s what makes his archetype revealed as a villain that learns all the more threatening. Not to mention I think the new chapters help contribute to that factor.
